Join CORFC’s Youth Advisory Committee! Colorado Rising for Communities’ Youth Advisory Committee is a program to cultivate more youth leaders in the climate movement. The committee will be made up of ten youth, aged 12-18, and will meet biweekly from June through September. Those on the committee will work towards making positive, localized community impacts.
This weekend (on May 4th!), we hosted an Outdoor Series event focussed on the Dolores Canyons National Monument proposal. Colorado Rising is part of a coalition of conservation organizations, community groups, and businesses working to conserve nearly 400,000 acres of public lands in Western Colorado, including the Dolores Canyons National Monument. 4 WONDERFUL AIR QUALITY BILLS: Four impressive air quality bills were introduced by Colorado’s Democratic state lawmakers last week! It will be a tough fight to get these passed so please send your written comments for EACH of the 4 bills now (or even better, attend the hearings and give comment in person!) SB-165: Improve
A new bill, “Modifications to Processes in Energy and Carbon Management.” a.k.a. the Phase Out & Clean Up bill, co-championed by 350 Colorado and WildEarth Guardians, will soon be introduced in the legislature. There are already 19 groups pledged to get involved by supporting publicly, testifying to legislators, and/or helping mobilize their members to help.
