LARGEST OIL AND GAS EXPLOSION IN COLORADO SINCE 2015 MAY TAKE 5 YEARS TO CLEAN UP
The April 6th oil well blowout injured one worker and prompted the evacuation of nearby residents and the closure of Galeton Elementary School in Weld County Colorado. The explosion spewed water, toxic chemicals and crude oil uncontrollably for nearly four days. Dangerous levels of contamination were measured as far as 2 miles away and reached an elementary school, roadways, multiple properties, and created an oily sheen in nearby waterways.
